Artor Domestic Services was set up by Michelle Aldridge. After working for 10 years in Catering as a Chef, she moved into Housing working for large housing associations, working with Homeless people initially and then as a Manager overseeing a large number of Care, Supported and Older Persons Accommodation.

Having seen the costs and bad practice associated with some companies offering basic services such as cleaning, she decided to set up Artor Domestic Services to offer an affordable quality service to a range of different client groups.

Michelle strives to ensure the standard of service provided is consistent and is careful in the recruitment of her staff. She also ensures all staff are trained to the same high standard she provides herself. All staff go through a rigorous interview and selection process which includes a 4 week induction and shadowing program.

Artor Domestic Services has Employers Liability Insurance to ensure her staff and clients are equally protected.

Michelle has Vulnerable Adults and Child Protection Training and ensures all her staff have a basic awareness of these issues. Michelle is Police checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service system and although she is unable to apply for DBS checks for her staff, a number of her staff also have DBS checks.

Our Values

We operate an Equal Opportunities Policy and promote diversity in our work. We recognise that the society we live in comprises a diversity of people, all of whom have the right to be treated with respect. We have a clear commitment to ensuring that our services to clients and the treatment of our staff, are underpinned by this. We do not tolerate discourteous behavior in any form and any staff member found to be disrespectful to a client will be removed from the service. We also do not accept disrespectfulness from clients to our staff, you are paying for a service not to abuse people and contracts will be terminated immediately if this is found to be occurring.

We aim to provide each service based on the needs of each client and tailor those needs accordingly. There are very few things we will not do but we aim to please wherever possible. We are conscious of Health & Safety issues and ensure these are adhered to when providing a service. We aim to be fair in our charging and we operate an open policy enabling all our clients to obtain copies of all of our policies and procedures.

Service and Pricing

Artor Domestic Services does not charge for extra wor, other than stated. All prices quoted are fixed and based on an hourly rate. All payments must be paid to Michelle Aldridge and not to individual staff members. By doing this we ensure our clients get a fair deal, and all staff receive the same amount with honesty and integrity underpinning the service. All quotes are for information purposes only and do not bind any client to a service.

We pride ourselves on offering our staff a high basic wage well above that of the national minimum wage paid by most other Cleaning Companies and because of this we are able to provide staff to you, who are loyal and long term. All cleaning equipment and products are provided within the price unless a specific product is needed by a client in which case the client must provide this.

Our commitment to ensuring we provide you with a consistently high service is paramount and we offer services provided Free of charge if you are dissatisfied. However, there are limitations to this. If a service of 2 hrs has been provided but a small area has been missed, we will not reimburse for this. Only in circumstances where a dissatisfaction of at least 30 minutes worth of work having not been completed will be given free of charge.

Artor Domestic Services is constantly looking to improve its services and welcomes feedback from its customers. We aim to be approachable in all aspects of our work and prefer openness in our client relationships and hope our clients will always feel able to contact us about any issue regarding the service being provided. From time to time we may provide clients with feedback forms/questionnaires to gain a better understanding of how to improve our service.
